About Me

I primarily work in the Person-Centred model of counselling, and incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques if appropriate. I can help you to explore, consider, or reframe your thoughts and feelings, and explore possible actions for future change.

In action, this means that I am guided by you and what you choose to bring to each session without giving my opinions, guidance, or advice. No-one knows you better than you! If I think they may be of use, occasionally I will incorporate worksheets or collaborate on goal setting with you (which are common CBT techniques).

The therapeutic relationship is a key component of counselling change. It is hugely important to me that I ensure our therapeutic relationship is built on a foundation of empathy, non-judgement, and respect.
